How the tools calculate

Independent, non-government site

Every calculator runs in your browser: nothing you type is sent or stored. They apply the consolidated texts in the Official Gazette (BOE) and the figures published by Social Security. Rules last read: 1 November 2026.

The guaranteed income

We start from the 2026 yearly non-contributory pension, €8,803.20, set by Royal Decree-law 3/2026 and repeated in Royal Decree 241/2026. Law 19/2021 divides it by twelve for a single person, €733.60, and applies the annex I scale: 30% per extra member up to 2.2. The single-parent and disability supplements are 22% of the single amount. The benefit is that figure minus last year’s income divided by twelve, if the gap reaches 10 euros and income is at least 10 euros below.

Rounding

We calculate in cents and round only for display. Official figures are quoted with their cents, such as €733.60; results calculated from your figures are shown in whole euros. The scale amounts and wealth limits match the Social Security IMV page, and the tests check that they do.

Wealth, child supplement and employment incentive

Net wealth is compared with three times the yearly single amount on the annex II scale, and assets with six times. The child support supplement uses Social Security’s 2026 amounts (€115, €80.50 and €57.50) and the 300% income and 150% wealth thresholds. The employment incentive applies annex III of Royal Decree 240/2026: €6,000 exempt and 50% of the excess, or 55.00000000000001% with a supplement.

Non-contributory pension and IPREM

The non-contributory pension follows articles 363 to 369 of the General Social Security Act: 35% tolerance for own income, household limit with 70% per member and a 2.5 multiplier with children or parents, a 25% floor and the article 366 work rule. The IPREM is the one in Law 31/2022, rolled over.

Interpretations

Where a rule can be read two ways we say so on the page. The main case is overpayments: article 19.3 refers to the monthly amount of the non-contributory pension without saying whether that is the fourteen-payment instalment or one twelfth; we use the instalment, €628.80, and show the other figure. For 2027 we give no amounts: the calculator only applies the percentage you enter.

Tests

Each rule has hand-written automated tests built from the text: the full scale against the official figures, wealth equal to the limit, the 10 euro margin, the pension cap, the non-claimable 65%, the four-year rule for the invalidity pension. The site is not published if a test fails.

Limits

The calculators do not see your file or tax data. They do not calculate regional minimum incomes, and in Navarre and the Basque Country, where the region runs the IMV, the tax data comes from their own tax offices. The decision on your case is made by the INSS.

Updates

We reread the BOE and the Social Security page regularly and by hand; when the 2027 uprating is published we will change the parameters and the reading date. If you spot a mistake, write to us from the contact page; how we correct it is in the editorial policy.
